Building Our Community in Friendship

Jesus taught us to "Love one another, just as I have loved you!"

Our Parish community extends beyond the walls of our Church! We believe in friendship and support, and so we want to be a community where people can get on with each other, find friendship, and help each other in our Mission.

We always want to offer a warm welcome to visitors: after our weekend Masses we always (whenever possible) offer refreshments afterwards, as a time to chat with old friends and perhaps make new ones! There is a popular coffee morning every Tuesday after 10.00 a.m. Mass to which everyone is very welcome. In addidiotn, every Thursday we run a lunch and social club for older members of our community (whatever their faith), so that helped along by food, tea, bingo and a good chat, we can help people meet together. Organisations like the UCM (the Union of Catholic Mothers) also provide an opportunity to socialise.

Our community also includes our younger members: we work very closely with our Parish Primary School (also Saint Mary's) and all children and families. You will find a lot more information about our school by clicking the link to the right. We take the care of our younger friends and vulnerable adults extremely seriously, and you can also find information about safeguarding policies and procedures.

It is not uncommon to see four generations of a family in our Church! Our community extends from the past into the future, so you may also want to have a look at our history, and some personal recollections from the past.

Last (but definitely not least) we are just on the verge of  new initiatives for young Catholics - watch this space!
